Raising awareness?
My son is in a wheelchair. He has no legs and only one arm. Kids usually stare, but then they will ask a few questions and after we answer they are fine, they usually then move on to asking about the stickers he has stuck all over his wheelchair. The bigger issue is parents! Once in a store we ran into one of my son's classmates, the boys upon seeing each other yelled hello and the other boy wanted to come talk to my son. His dad, pulled the boy close to him and told him NO. When the boy turned around to wave at my son his dad told him no and jerked his arm down and pysically turned him so his back was to my son. When they passed us again the man moved his son to the other side of thier cart. The boy gave an embarressed smile behind his dad's back and shrugged. I was too shocked to say anything. What would you have said?
