My family is HUGE into parties and getting together and if there's a THEME it's only THAT much better (and bigger!)
My Mom and I had the goal of seeing every "Best Picture" nominated movie this year - and I'm one "Frost/Nixon" away from doing it! In honor of the "Best Picture" nominees, we're going to make five dishes for the party, each one reflecting one of the movies: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, The Reader, and Frost/Nixon. We're okay with coming up with ideas for "Milk" (chocolate dessert with a big frosty glass, mmm!) but most of the others have us stumped! We're thinking a main course of New Orleans cuisine for Benjamin Button, but are TOTALLY lost on Frost/Nixon. Anyone have any suggestions??? Anyone else having an Oscar party??? |

You're right! This DOES sound like a TC challenge! (I LOVE Top Chef by the way!)
We were definitely thinking something maybe like Indian themed appetizers...hummus and stuff (easier for me to make that becoming a chef extrodanaire in Indian cuisine!) but are definitely open to more adventurous ideas!!! Thanks! |

Apparently one of Nixon's favorite foods was cottage cheese with ketchup & pepper. How's that for adventerous? LOL!
Frost - makes me think of frosting or maybe a cool punch with dry ice that "frosts" a cool shaped bowl or jello mold? |
