I think it may depend on the kid, but I give my boys about a half hour to eat something and they sit and watch tv, then they do their homework between about 4 and 5. Now, my kids are in 2nd and 4th grade ( this one is special needs) so they don't have much homework.
I guess I just think if it was me coming home after a 7 hour day, I would want a little break too. However we do try to get it done before dinner because I don't like homework "suprises" where something big is due the next day! |

Now, the question is - on the bus on the way HOME from school or the bus on the way TO school??
haha!(For the record, I would have been the bus on the way TO school kid!) |

As a mom of two kids one 12 and the other 4, I have realized that all kids are different. My daughter will do her homework after coming back from playing in the evening and she has been that way since she started school and my son wants to get it done the minute he's back from school. I have tried to get my daughter to do her homework as soon as she is back from school, after she's had her lunch but to no avail. So now i let her be.
