Hey guys, I'm new to the board. I'm from Southern California.
I heard from a friend of this game called The Fashion Fantasy Game. I'd like to know if anyone else has kids who play it. It's about this virtual fashion industry where you can design clothes and sell clothes in a virtual market. No real money is used. It's all Monopoly money. I looked at the website myself. It's an online game that doesn't require a disk or console. I tried to play the game, and it's surprisingly good. It teaches real business concepts and supposedly uses real fashion industry jargon (Although I wouldn't know for sure because I'm a construction worker). I suggested it to my daughter, but she hasn't gotten around to it because of finals. Does anyone else know anything about this stuff? I can't afford a console, so I thought this would be a great way to make up for it. |

Well, my daughter finally got around to playing it, and she loves it. This is great because she also played the Sims at her friend's house and says that Fashion Fantasy Game is better because it actually teaches stuff. That makes me feel a lot better because it means we can save a lot of money by not buying console games. Looks like expensive doesn't always mean good (although I am curious about Spore, which I might buy for myself someday).
Now if only we could get the computer to stop crashing. I had to write this message twice because of it. Guess sometimes expensive does mean good...(using a computer from year 2002). |

It's perfect for 9 year old girls! In fact, my daughter is close to that age.
I looked at the game myself and it's almost exactly like paper-cut outs. They have this toolbar where you can select fabrics and types of clothes (shirts, pants, dresses) and paste them onto models. I also liked the artwork. It looks cute. |

Hi folks! I took a quick look at the site and I'm wondering if those of you who have played the game know if you can make the fashion models a bit more realistic in terms of their proportions? I wouldn't want to encourage this sort of warped image of a too thin and hard-to-replicate image to a young girl already bombarded with this image in the mainstream media.
Thanks! Karolina |
