Default K12?

Anyone use K12 to homeschool? We are thinking of using this next year for fifth grade for our daughter. We are in Texas if that matters, I would love to hear from others who used it and get your thoughs and comments.

Default We used to use K12 through CAVA

Hi, I just started homeschooling my children in September. We started out through a Program called California Virtual Academies. They use the K12 curriculum. We were not very happy with this curriculum, because it was very advanced. I had 3 children homeschooling- grades 9th, 6th and 4th. My son was in GATE classes last year in 5th grade and I thought that having this curriculum would provide him a challlenge and enhance his learning. I was very disappointed because at times it was more challenging then even I could understand.
My cousin also went through this same program with her kinder, and she was not happy either. My cousin also used to work at a christian school and taught 2nd grade ABEKA. She felt that k12 was too advanced for the average child.
Now I say this and also say that I had 2 other friends that loved the curriculum and only moved their children out of the program because of work related reasons.
My suggestion to you would be to really research it as well as other curriculums out there for your child.
Since we have changed to a Charter School ( I still get to pick what curriculum I want to use)I am much happier and so are my children.
