We have very good benefits through my husbands job. He gets a lump sum amount that can be used as he chooses for benfits, and then we pay what ever amount our choices cost beyond that. (His company does it this way so you can pick your benefits based on your needs. With three kids, our benefit needs are different than say a single, 20-something guy.)
Our benefit year runs June 1 - May 31st so our selection period is coming up soon and I am worried that our benefit options will be cut back. Just as we are about to jump into major orthodontics! |

My benefits are awesome! (Part of making up for the fact that the pay is quite minimal I think!) I have medical, dental, and vision. But we also have Medical info calling lines, smoking cessation programs, Employee Assistance Programs including counseling and lots more! Like I said, the pay is minimal, but if you take FULL advantage of what it offerred it can really help make up for it.
