I was a college teacher - so unfortunately I got fewer of the fun handmade things, but I got some really awesome letters, poems, and short stories from my students. Sometimes I'd feel so burned out from teaching, but the letters OF appreciation made me remember why I did it and were really special to me. I still have all of them to this day. I think from little kids letters or drawings would be super special too.

I'm a preschool music teacher. I most enjoy the handmade variety, but also gift certificates and note pads with a teacher theme.

My daughter is in kindergarten. We gave her teacher a DQ gift card for her birthday and since we know she likes to cook a Bed Bath and Beyond gift card for christmas. Hope that helps.

I loved gift certificates to craft places and nice resturaunts (maybe a gift certificate to a spa?). I also loved the hand made gifts from the kids.

I have also kept the letters--not the ones from parents, but the ones frome students! I teach high school and getting validation from a teenager doesn't happen often so I cherish these letters!

From parents, I too enjoy gift cards--dinner, movies, bath and body, etc. I don't like ones from target, walmart, etc.--it seems they get used on my kids instead of me
