Someone on my Dad's side of the family did their entire geneology as a project and gave CD's with info to all of us at the last family reunion!

The used web based geneology programs as well as actually going to libraries and stuff once they got way back!

It was really neat though that the program they used compiled all of the information so that they could create the CD's for everyone to have as a keepsake (plus it's a great jumping off point for later similar projects!!!)
